Deformation Analysis

Deformation Analysis is determination of geometrical changes of an object due to its use or external factors. Solvotek uses high end, precise 3D laser scanning systems to gather the asbuilt data of the object and use this data in the analysis of the deformation of the object. Provide highly detailed reports showing the magnitude and the location of the deformation.

Precisely determine deformations of tanks, steel elements, bridges and other objetcs.

Crude oil tanks, storage tanks, coke drums needs maintenance periodically due to their high usage and deformation over time. Some assets change their shape due to heavy weight, or pressure or outside sources like fire. It is critically important to have a highly precise survey of the asset to determine the deformations. Laser scanners are a great way to gather data from all over the surface, not just from selected points, however if it is used in an unprofessional manner, it can yield to serious errors.

With the new hardware and software solutions for fast registration methods, cloud to cloud or VIS technology, lots of laser scanner users tend to go with these options. However for using laser scan data in the deformation analysis, one should provide registered laser scan data with the highest accuracy. The methodology used at the site, registration methodology and methodology for the analysis all play important role in achieving reliable results.

Solvotek International have extensive experience and know-how in delivering reliable results for deformation analysis projects.
